While I consider myself a "newbie" in the photography world I am constantly looking for more information. Every photography site I come across I review it intently trying to grasp all the information I can. I have recently discovered Rock My Photography and guess what they are having a photo contest.
While I am still trying to figure out what direction I want my photography to go in I am leaning toward event photography. Trying to capture every moment in an event sends my heart racing.
I recently photographed a 12th birthday party where this very lucky young man not only had a huge waterslide he had a band performing. I was able to capture some amazing stunts of the kids jumping and flipping on the waterslide. So my entry to the contest is below....

Sweet Peyton
My first newborn session. What to do?!?!?! After researching I decided I wanted to do a more natural session and relaxed session for the family. Kelly and Brian were so excited and this being their first child I wanted to make it special for them. I wanted this experience to be calm, yet exciting and get exactly what they were looking for.
Welcome little Peyton.
A sign a family friend made for his room.
His room is decorated in a football theme.
His dad, Brian, is a die hard Cubs fan.

The Journey Continues
And so my journey continues....
So, my first official photo shoot with the fabulous Ms. Holly was a wedding. Can you believe it?? It was so much fun. I was taking pictures of everything. Holly was still teaching as we were going through out the day and boy was it a long day. I was absorbing everything. Even though I was the third photographer she even included a good many of my pics to give to the client. I couldn't believe. I was so excited. Not to shabby!!!

Then we moved on to an engagement session. We had the cutest couple, Kelsey & Harrison. He actually proposed to her at a Star 94 meet and greet with Snow Patrol. How exciting is that!?!?!? Can not wait for their wedding in October.
A styled bridal shoot at Villa Serena was next on the calendar. It was exciting to see how everything came together from the beautiful flowers, hair & makeup to the gorgeous accessories. And the girls were absolutely stunning.
Stay tuned to see what I'm doing next!!!

My First Blog Ever!!!!
So, this may take a little while for me to write since this is my very first blog. Starting at the beginning - I have always had a love for photography. I would take pictures of everything from flowers to the family animals to my son. When he was little I would dress him up and make him pose for me. Have tons of those pics!! Now he is 15 and says, "seriously mom, I'm not doing that". I had always used a film camera until I could afford a "good" digital camera. Took a long time but it finally happened!
Now that I have a start with the equipment. I want to make my dream come true of being a professional photographer. One year ago I had the pleasure of meeting Holly L. Robbins. She was making her dreams come true by being a wedding photographer and my wedding was her first.
So we have kept in touch over the past year and I have followed her career closely. She is now helping me to make my dreams come true. She has been showing me all the ins and outs of the business (especially all the back office stuff - Holy Cow!!) She has been so patient with me. She and her precious little girl RyAnne have even been posing for me.
Stay tuned for more on my journey....
